Nardò Gallipoli – As already announced in these pages of piazzasalento, the “silent and noiseless” movements of parish priests in the diocese of Nardò-Gallipoli continue. The bishop of Nardò-Gallipoli has sent the faithful a long letter in which he announces the opening in Ugento of the diocesan inquiry for the beatification of Mother Teresa Lanfranco from Gallipoli. The ceremony is set for 7 pm in the basilica De Finibus Terrae for the canonization of the Servant of God, who was vicar general of the Order of the Daughters of Santa Maria di Leuca.

At the end of the pastoral letter, Monsignor Fernando Filograna communicated that the thirty-eight-year-old Don Antonio Pinto (Nardò, photo above), former parish priest at the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Casarano, was assigned, again as parish priest, to Copertino, to the church of the Rosary.

Don Antonio Pinto will be replaced in Casarano by don Roberto Tarantino (40 years old, from Nardò, photo on the left), who, despite his young age, already has a respectable curriculum. Former parish priest in Matino, he has been an educator at the Pontifical Regional Seminary “Pio XI” of Molfetta for some years and also press officer of the diocese.
